Andrew White didn’t just buy a smash repair shop; he came back to where it all began. He started his career as an apprentice right here at Kings, and that hands-on experience means he understands every role in the workshop and leads with a genuine respect for the craft. This foundation shapes his entire leadership philosophy—a straightforward approach that the team calls “one of the good ones”: look after your people, give them the best tools for the job, and create an environment where they can take genuine pride in their work.
Knowing the trade inside-out, he has built a culture where everyone is treated as a valued team member, not just a number. It’s a professional workshop that runs on skill and mutual respect—not politics—where anyone can approach him with an issue, knowing they’ll be heard.
Our team is our biggest asset, and we’re proud that so many have chosen to build their careers with us—some for over 19 years. Their experience and pride in their work is what sets us apart.
Our focus is on quality, culture, and work-life balance. We invest in the best equipment, foster a respectful team environment where expertise is valued, and offer a genuine 4-day work week that is almost unheard of in the trade.
We look for people who have a genuine passion for cars and take pride in their work. A strong work ethic, a good eye for detail, and the ability to be a supportive team player are the key traits that make someone successful here.
It's a genuine 40-hour week condensed into four 10-hour days (Monday to Thursday - 7:00 am to 5:30 pm), giving you a 3-day weekend, every week. This gives our team a fantastic work-life balance, allowing them time for family, appointments, and hobbies.
It’s a fantastic lifestyle, especially for those looking for a "sea change." You're surrounded by beautiful beaches and bushland, the community is friendly, and you get to escape the traffic and stress of the city while still having a secure, professional career.
Absolutely. Many of our team members moved here for that exact reason. It's a safe, quiet, and community-minded area with a more relaxed pace of life, making it an ideal place for kids to grow up.
We handle all training on-site, so you get paid to learn without losing time traveling to TAFE. Our dedicated MTA (Motor Traders' Association) trainer visits our workshop once a month to work with you and guide you through your coursework, making the process practical and hands-on.
Our goal is for our apprentices to stay with us and become qualified, long-term members of our team. Once you are qualified, you will have a full-time position as a tradesperson with opportunities to continue growing your skills and seniority.
Our standard hours are 7:00 am to 5:30 pm, four days a week. While it's a slightly longer day, our team members find it's a small trade-off for having a permanent 3-day weekend and they get used to it very quickly.
We've built a professional and supportive team that feels like a family. There is a lot of good-natured banter, but everyone is focused on doing great work and helping each other out. We don't have workshop politics; we just have a crew that respects one another.
We offer the rare opportunity to have both a rewarding career and an incredible lifestyle. You can use your skills in a professional workshop that respects your expertise, earn a competitive salary, and still have a 3-day weekend to enjoy fishing, boating, hiking and quality time with the ones you love.
The Far South Coast isn’t just a location; it’s a lifestyle. With pristine national parks at your back and the Pacific Ocean at your front door, your weekends can be filled with fishing, hiking, surfing, or simply relaxing on a deserted beach. This is your opportunity to work in a trade you love, in a place you’ll love living.
As our team says, this is one of the luckiest places on Earth. You’re just 15 minutes from some of the country’s most beautiful beaches, yet only an hour and a half from the high country and the snowfields. It’s the perfect balance—a quiet, safe community to raise a family, with endless opportunities for adventure right on your doorstep. Whether you’re into fishing, four-wheel driving, or finding a great local pub, you’ll find your pace here.
Your three-day weekend is your ticket to adventure. The Sapphire Coast is a natural playground for anyone who loves the outdoors. Spend your Fridays kayaking on pristine estuaries, your Saturdays hitting world-class mountain bike trails, and your Sundays finding the perfect fishing spot. It’s a lifestyle built around fresh air, open spaces, and making the most of every day.
